About Wat Rong Suea Ten
Wat Rong Suea Ten, the Blue Temple, stands near the Kok River on the northern edge of Chiang Rai city. Its main hall is painted in deep sapphire blue with intricate gold details, and inside a large white Buddha sits against a vivid blue background. Gold-and-blue naga serpents guard the entrance stairs. The design draws on the same contemporary northern art scene as the White Temple, and the result is one of the most photographed interiors in northern Thailand. It is smaller and usually calmer than the White Temple, and easy to combine on one day.
